This morning my daughters learned how to use the compass feature on their iPhone maps to find their way thru a meadow behind our new rental house in CT to visit friends in a neighboring house. The only caution we felt necessary to give them was to avoid the rescued Clydesdale horse who is known not to be kid-friendly.
And yet tonight the President arrived at an airport just a few miles away to mourn the death of 28, including 20 children, in the nearby town of Newtown. Governor Malloy stated that, "Evil visited this community..." and the President shed tears, both of which I thought were appropriate and helpful immediate responses to a terrible tragedy.
