Madeline's Reading Workshop

Ali, Ally, and I went to Madeline's class this morning for a 'Reading Workshop'. She had made it known that attendance was important to her and responded accordingly with lots of goofy hugs and exaggerated gestures after we arrived. While taking turns reading a story about 'cookie love potions' I felt a little sad for several of her class mates who seemed to notice that they were alone.

On the way out I noticed the regular uniformed school safety officer dutifully checking in unrecognized visitors. I asked Angela (who I have known for years) if they were allowed to have access to a gun while on duty and she frowned and said, "No, the City won't allow it".
